Results of politics in Esperanto

Esperanto politics aren't any purer than ones despised outside this movement

Sourced from independent speakers and users of an International Language - Esperanto. Universal League acknowledges Esperanto movement only as a free, independent federation of the speakers of an International Language - Esperanto, an independent non-governmental movement of worldwide spread. Esperanto doesn't have any superior controlling authority, except necessary linguistic guardian of the language uniformity called "Academy of Esperanto". At least, one million people worldwide know fluently and actively use Esperanto. Few million more know it but aren't active, some loose it with passing of time. Significant part of Esperlando is also in Esperanto.

Universal League doesn't identify with any political party, minority group, pseudo-scientific hysteria or any Orwellian style entity. Their silly pressure groups and hysterical doom-and-gloom propaganda and blackmailing dirty all they touch and violate human rights and freedoms even if it is against their own best intentions end interests

Universal Esperanto Association (UEA) - Humanist Ethics - Esperanto in General

Where, when, how, and in what condition Esperanto got born.

For the sake of truth, one must know how unfortunate to Poland were historical times when birth of Esperanto took place in Poland's Capital city, Warsaw. At that time Poland didn't exist in the maps of the world, having been savagely partitioned into three occupation zones and occupied by three enemy neighbours. Prussia, Austria and Russia. This is why first handbook of Esperanto had to by published in Russian. It was issued and published in what was then left of Poland, Russian Puppet of the "Principality of Poland", called also the, "Warsaw Principality", under total and savagely ruthless control of Tsarist Russia. Original Polish version was refused right of publishing, until its Russian version was completed and published as first. It was official policy of Russian governors of all the occupied, and otherwise controlled by them, parts of Poland to humiliate and downgrade on every possible step of life Polish language and culture. This was one of great many forms of suppressing and persecuting Poland and Polish Nation by all possible means, which persists in Russia in some forms even until now...

Esperanto appeared for the first time the 26-th of July 1887, published in Russian as the "Miezhdunarodnyi Jazik" by Dr. Esperanto, in Warsaw, capital city of Poland, what has taken place under the cultural-genocide conditions of the Tsarist Russian enemy occupation of this region of Poland - alongside with big portion of the rest of this country. First manual of Esperanto under the title: "International Language, by Dr-Esperanto", was prepared by the genius Polish doctor of ophthalmology, Ludwik Lazarz Zamenhof, years earlier. He kept, though, improving it over some years. Finally he issued it for the first time in July 26, 1887. His religious denomination was Jewish. He was an amateur linguist and polyglot speaking some 6 or 7 languages. Dr. Ludwik Lazarz Zamenhof, issued this, first manual, under the pseudonym, Dr. Esperanto, as   it wasn't very prudent for practitioner of serious health care profession - medicine doctor and ophthalmologist - to let the world know of having some "nutty ideas"...  Poland, was at that time dissected amongst three  big political powers of that historical period: Imperial Austria, Tsarist Imperial Russia and Imperial Prussia. As the result, Poland was wiped out from maps of the political world for nearly 200 years. Warsaw-Principality of Poland was all that was left of the ones great Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania. Practically it was just mocking form of some "mock-principality" under absolute control of ruthlessly anti-Polish cultural and lingual genocide, equally ruthlessly persecuting, both, Polish language and Polish culture. Tsarist Russian, as well as German, generals and governors, at their respective parts of partitioned Poland applied equally ruthless cultural genocide, still well alive in memory of Poles even till the present day. At the third part of the three partitions of Poland, Imperial Austria,  Polish universities and schools were for some time still allowed using Polish. Polish language and culture were left alone for some time, although, never free of restrictions, foreign control and censorship.

Inventor of Esperanto a genius Polish amateur linguist and polyglot, Doctor of ophthalmology, Ludwik Lazarz Zamenhof (Louis Lazarus Zamenhof) is known in Esperanto as, Ludoviko Lazaro Zamenhof or, Dr. Esperanto. Esperanto movement, founded by him formed loose worldwide federation consisting of people who learn and use it for their own purposes. The movement grew in numbers of organizations and individal members. One merger inter two separate organizations occurred between UEA and a Universal League That resulted, though, by the demise of the Universal League together with her, best in whole movement at that time, monthly journal, La Praktiko (the Practice), as UEA failed to keep conditions of their merger contract...

How many people know and use Esperanto

It's hard to say, even approximately, how many people use Esperanto. UEA speaks of about 2 million. This doesn't, though, reflect true numbers of speakers at not related to UEA organizations. Sources, like, Baha'i Faith, having as one of religion's principles the support for an idea of mutual to all humankind international language, speaks of 10 to 15 million Esperanto users worldwide. Baha'is’ use mainly English - besides, Farsi (Iranian), and Arabic but Esperanto is also popular with Baha'is and some of them they teach it, too. The claim on number of speakers of Esperanto by Baha'is seem to be proven true by 'Esperanto's strong and growing presence at Internet, where Esperanto is one of most popular languages. Other sources claim other Esperanto user's numbers. It is helped, though, by rapid worldwide spread and use of the computerised, digital Multimedia and Internet Technologies.

There must be some truth in it, since popular browsers like, Mozilla and Firefox, having been most serious competitors to, Internet Explorer, decided to adopt Esperanto in answer to intensive and expansive use of Internet by Esperanto users. Why such wide discrepancies of the data, then?

Likely, this happens because great many people acquire Esperanto as self-learners, mainly by Internet. They also tend to use it rather direct, by-passing esperantist organizations that could know of them. This is helped by extremely high level of easiness of this language, what empowers learning it person to master it fast by self-study. So, Esperanto is very cheap, even entirely free to learn. The same conditions apply to further spread. Similar to Esperanto, motivations, conditions and easiness of study are unknown in relation to any of "Big" national languages partially internationalised by force, by political and economical colonisation or outright conquering and colonisation of other lands and parts of the world.

Easiness in learning and teaching others.

All needed in Esperanto is motivation and determination, since Internet sites like: "Course of Esperanto" from Brazil: http://www.cursodeesperanto.com.br/bazo/index.php?en, and other, offer easy to follow great multimedia software package; songs, films and programs for Esperanto study, all free. All this is downloadable for free (genuine payless) in some 34 languages. All this comes in package with initial contacts. Other sites great for beginners like: www.edukado.net and www.lernu.org, offer online courses and information in and on Esperanto. There are also sites for young people: forums, chat-rooms, etc. Three presented above sites are example of growing number of similar sides, portals and services.

Similar - mainly self-learner based spread - is rarely met, especially in case of so highly complex language like English. As the matter of fact, English is exemplary as the language practically impossible to master by a self-learner who has no chance to get into long term, direct exposure and everyday surround of an English speaking environment. Contrary to this, Esperanto is learned right that way, in comparably very short time and with great success all over the world.

Largest Esperanto organization is at present, Universal Esperanto Association. There are also many other, partly or entirely separate, organizations. For example: International Catholic Union of Esperantists" (Internacia Katolika Unuiĝo Esperantista), "World Association of Non-Nationalists" (Sennacia Asocio Tutmonda). Presently still in process of reviving, "Universal League" (Universala Ligoo) is the newest one. There are several faith based organizations, environmental groups, scientific organizations, known universities and other academic and educational, institutions, religions, political parties, etc. Amongst them as the completely separate from UEA, is a Universal League.

Universal League

Uses Esperanto but in principle is not at all esperantist, as understood by part of Esperanto movement run by UEA. UF refuses to condone with pseudo-neutrality, "political correctness" and hypocrisy, all embraced by UEA's politics. Universal League represents different philosophy and is not neutral at all in relation to brainwash, Newspeak or Orwellian-like "social-engineering", manipulating, lies, half truths, twisting facts and preventing truth to emerge by all possible means... Universal League doesn't accept nor acknowledges outside authority at any level.  UL dos not participate at UEA events, like their annual Universal Congresses, as they are transformed into pressure-group form inconsiderate of rights, achievements and feelings of participants, in particular the hosting country organizers. UEA appears to be overfilled by hypocritical politics and guidance by ethically doubtful, suspicious pressure groups happy to limit and violate by terrorist politics, rights of free speech, freedom of expression and personal freedoms. With increasing frequency, Universal Esperanto Congresses of UEA, put up with, and even openly agree with oppressing rights to truthful and unobstructed freedom of true cultural self-presentations end expression at countries where they occur, which outright amounts to outrageous acts of participation in totalitarian cultural genocide. Such phenomenon is in particular abhorrent at UEA's Universal (Esperanto) Congresses where such suppression of cultural exchange by suppressing freedom of free expression is clearly observable since quite some time already... This suggests existence of some obscure plan of total control  over users of Esperanto... One can observe clearly perceptible, constant attacking of almost all traditions and good old moral, ethical and cultural values, by some small, but only one allowed to be heard, handful of so called esperantist "activists" deserving rather to be called the "total control commissaries".... Plainly disgusting to any decent person.

Ugly politics in Esperanto

Here's one life example: Politicising UEA and offending all Poles by offending their Government, in extremely ugly campaign of blackmail and false accusations by savagely offending, anti-Polish action of the ex-president of UEA, and fervent neo-fascist Radical Party activist, against Polish Government, in particular offending Polish President. In consequence it was an open propaganda-war act against all Polish People. Together with his political allies and comrades (between the extreme-left and neo fascist "Radical Party") he wrote highly offensive, unbelievably arrogant and very impolite in tone "Open Letter" to President of Poland, in an attempt to make big deal out of rally small internal matter concerning changes in running, Polish Radio's external radio program in Esperanto. One needs to know that, they are completely funded and subsidized only and exclusively by the Polish tax-payer!

With characteristic to himself arrogance, Corsetti presented  UEA to Polish government, and all Poles in the worst possible to imagine light... In consequence there is no wonder at all that UEA lost, and continues to loose in record pace, a lot of Polish members and supporters together with many other all over the world... There are many who chose not to be naive anymore to believe in neutrality of the UEA in light of such behaviour of the "Elite" of Esperanto's largest representative... Times when one organization kept monopolising and controlling almost all Esperanto speakers went into irreversible history... Easy to acquire direct communicability using always faster and better IT technology and multimedia changed this situation forever. Now at Internet and www, there is no need to fear censorship, now rarely any self-censoring worries in speaking ones mind out cloud freedom of expression, unless it is the case of someone slavishly hanging on to, never intending to change, old establishment's elitist structure. Esperanto forms free, federative movement - not one organization. People have right to exercise their freedom to say and express freely and with no fear what they think and want.

Only unobstructed freedom of word and free expression can "keep the bastards honest" as famously expressed himself in Australia, the funder of her Democratic Party. This is one of aims the Universal League is about. UL aims to serve those who have civilian courage to stand up to ethical and moral corruption within, otherwise noble in goals, Esperanto movement. In any case, World is to big to be taken over by few pitiful fools. All these "grandiosities" visible only in their own eyes are in fact insignificant, even completely unnoticeable by the rest of the world. In the unbiased view from outside, they look just like bunch of petty, "world-hungry", chieftains having problem with seriously oversized ambitions. Weird ideas they try to force, against the will of majority, are really completely foreign to esperantists, except small clique pretending to some tribal-like pseudo-subculture of their own.

Did UEA ever do anything herself, in all her history, to start serving own radio broadcasts in Esperanto, in order to deserve any whatsoever right of voice in it?

What is, though, the most bothering question? It is... "What those petty manipulators ever did along with their clique of morally corrupt hypocrites to establish UEA's own radio broadcast?" THE ANSWER IS: ZERO!   COMPLETELY NOTHING! Not ever even one simplest Podcast by Internet!

Now... Broadcasting by internet hardly presents any problems since quite a long time for even small and a lot poorer than UEA organizations. Doesn't UEA have funds and abilities to establish own broadcasting, instead calling names, throwing dirt at best known benefactors of Esperanto movement, expressing this way UEA's ungratefulness for all the past and present efforts, good will and free bonuses to Esperanto?! After all... Poland happened to be the country where Esperanto originated, and native country of its creator... Such attitudes must be, and indeed are outright disgusting to anyone with even very basic sense of justice and good taste. What they did amounted to outright ethical atrophy plagued with moral dwarfism of the worst kind known... Its a pity that such ungratefulness found home with the largest representative of Esperanto. Why shaming Esperanto movement so badly by matters of which above all UEA alone, and only UEA, ought to be held responsible!? What a shame to UEA! Universal League shall never associate with any organization acting that way.

Polish Radio's broadcasts in Esperanto weren't intended for scrapping but for moving to cheaper, Internet based broadcasting as better suited for worldwide reach and general characteristics of Esperantist movement, although, it was done for economical reasons, to improve personnel efficiency and management of Polish Radio in general. This was done at all levels of political and economical life in Poland, too. Reorganization was necessary, and urged for, by speeding economical and political change. Since when the "NEUTRAL"?! UEA acquired political right to interfere with internal politics of any country in the world whatsoever, and in particular, of the democratic, sovereign Poland?!

Ability to receive Polish Radio programs in Esperanto in Australia and New Zealand greatly improved by changes at Polish Radio.

Before Internet broadcasting, to be able to listen to Polish Radio in Esperanto in South Australia, I would have to purchase very expensive, short and long wave radio receiver. Standard receivers couldn't pick-up Warsaw, if they did sometimes this happened rare and with real lousy reception. According to my knowledge similar conditions exist in New Zealand as well and other island countries of Oceania and Southern Hemisphere. Since Polish Radio moved to Podcasting, I can listen to Polish Radio broadcasts, not only in Esperanto but also other languages, including my native Polish.  All this comes with additional bonus - great, crystal clear reception and easy accessibility any time of the day or night. Identical situation is all over the world where signal is, too, week for the standard radio receivers. Because of this, radio reception of Polish Radio in Esperanto (before called "Radio Polonia") was simply not achievable at all by the average earner or the poor. Only some rich people could access these broadcasts in many regions of the world

Judging by the reaction of the last (extremist party activist) ex-warlord-chief of the tribal-gone UEA, one must conclude, that was the situation in which he was together with his establishment most comfortable. The significant improvements was, therefore, contrary to their wishes. By all logic, it wouldn’t be wrong to conclude that such reaction of that dirty campaign was an effect of their raging against the significantly improved quality and true worldwide range, of daily broadcasts of the Polish Radio in Esperanto, and feeble trying to prevent further potential improvement in number of funs listening the model-pronunciation and grammar use of an International Language–Esperanto worldwide.

If UEA's doesn't change, her inflexibility, inability of democratic development shall drag her down to her demise. In the meantime the same rapid, insistent changes - much disliked by some UEA establishment representatives - became  greatest asset in development of other, quite different, not related to UEA organizations and movements, also using Esperanto. The hooligan-like behaved Pole-hater, pressure group style mud slinging ex-president of UEA apparently believed, it was his God given right to try taking ever control of something what right from the beginning is a free courtesy-gift of Polish People to the World. I must mention, too. It continues irrespectively of changing governments and political changes.

Worst of all, he did it as the representative of UEA while representing his own petty clique of unscrupulous political henchmen like himself. He did it as an extremely bad, lousy styled, petty, irresponsible and dirt manipulating political operation. All he was capable to do was no more than splashing all over the Esperanto media dirty political mud in terrorist style  with typically disgusting character assassination and blackmail. All this so typical for all bankrupt, political parties and pressure-groups with typical for them hooligan style; terror, extortion, and blackmail! True Establishment Mafia. Yak!...

Polish Anti-Semitism? - Here are Polish Radio broadcasts in Hebrew, in place of Esperanto...

Knowing already their hate of Poles and Poland, knowing how they twist facts, miss-represent history, tell half truths and outright arrogantly lie this would be, most probably, also presented as one of aspects of an "anti-Semitism", and "Jew-Hating'" by Polish government and all those bad, bad, so very bad "Jew hating Poles"... All this is clearly implied in his - although not only - specimens of epistolary art butchery, supported by two or three moronic comments from amongst equally unscrupulous political bankrupts calling themselves, "journalists", whom anyone hardly ever read or even heard about, wherever they come from. How  unfortunate to UEA! The moronic band of pseudo-intellectual political blackmailers presented themselves and UEA as no more than the bunch of ethical dwarfs. What they represented by their action was just their own version of grossly falsified, miss-represented pseudo-Esperanto... In truth, they represent completely foreign to Esperanto ideology of dirtiest possible blackmail tactics.

Arab proverb translated to Esperanto sais: "Hundoj bojas, karavano pluen vojas" - Dogs bark, camel-train still fallows the track.

Broadcasting Esperanto programs to the world by Polish Radio still continues. Find it on internet under the same address as before: http://www.polskieradio/eo. Politicizers of UEA can congratulate themselves “great achievement” in making fools of UEA and Esperantists in general, besides making sworn enemies where they had good friends before. Congratulations! This latest seems to be what they master the best, and keep "improving" in it all the time... Polish Radio in Esperanto still continues without interruptions.

I dare to ask here again, though: What did UEA ever do to fund and run her own independent Radio Broadcasts, or at least Podcasting in Esperanto? By any logical reasoning of any capable of logical thinking person they ought to do it already very, very long time ago... What's happening with all money faithful members keep giving to UEA?

Questions upon questions.

  1. Why hard work of members gets little or no acknowledgement nor moral reward for expense and so much work done in voluntary slaving for UEA's "ideas"?

  2. Why achievements of individual members hardly get ever noticed or mentioned?

  3. Why teaching of so easy Esperanto gets split into ever more sections over long time in the establishments teaching by UEA?

  4. Why amateur instructors of Esperanto keep getting so much greater results in teaching, and number of successful completions of their courses than professional teachers?

  5. Why Esperanto history gets so much twisted and distorted?

  6. What does UEA do to help esperantists to stay members?

  7. Why UEA together with her establishment keeps favouring some nations over others?

There seems to be no end to growing queue of REALLY BOTHERING questions. Consequently most hear of UEA, try it and don't like it. So they say, enough! More and more vote by their feet. In final acount, it isn't Esperanto that's the one who looses, but UEA yes, it looses a lot.

Podcasting is a lot more convenient

Since moving to podcasting Polish Radio Broadcasts in Esperanto can be not only reached anytime of the day or night anywhere but also can be downloaded and presented to others in the region who don't have an access to Internet. It is so much more convenient. Reception is much clearer than from, very expensive, short wave radio receiver. Looks like some political manipulators representing political twisters hate these new possibilities and ever wider reach of broadcasts in model Esperanto... It is continually subsidized by the same Polish authorities and Polish taxpayer... It's would be interesting to know that now, one full time employee does equally rich, end often more interesting programs as previously did three persons, also on full time employment. This is, as before, complemented with some freelancing. As a matter of fact, many aspects are better and more interesting, besides the crystal-clear reception...

Remarkable, Trendy Poles Bashing...

If that attitude of the spoken of before ex-UEA president could be still defended by anyone as not a remarkable attacks on Poland and Pole-bashing, one ought to analyse also some more facts after:

Just short time after all the noise, Italian Government decided on SCRAPPING ALTOGETHER an Italian Radio's broadcast in Esperanto. And guess what!? THERE WASN'T EVEN MENTION of this at UEA besides just short mention at Esperanto movement in general. But above all! There wasn't heard ever even one whisper of this complete anihilation of an Italian Esperanto Broadcasts from the "gentlemanly", Mr. Renato Corsetti, still UEA's president at that time. Its worth to know also this. Italy is a native country and permanent residence of this particular UEA ex-president.

"Who would then dare to say, UEA and her ex-president aren't neutral or don't adhere to high ethical standards?!" At that time, he spoken of here, Mr. Renato Corsetti, was still head of UEA. It was his "duty", as he implied in his rude message to Polish People when addressing the President of Poland. Strangely, he lacked, even remotely similar "fighting spirit" to write even politely and ask the President of Italy to do something to retain their broadcasts in Esperanto, and preserve connected with this work positions.

Well, well, well here we are... Poles must! Italians, may, or will not, according to the whim... And of course, we, Poles, are meant to - are even clearly expected to - swallow all these insults and dare to say nothing!!!

We, Poles, are obviously meant to become slaves and behave like slaves. We are meant to accept such terrorist character assassinations, and all the  dirt smearing and blackmailing as something fair, normal, right, and acceptable, and - of course - we are meant to, never even dare to whisper a word about it!!! Otherwise, we get called: Anti-Semites, Stalinists, Fascists, Hitler lovers, etc... We, Poles!!!  Who then was on that went with together with Hitler against whole World, Poland?!!! Poland was the first hardest hit, harshest of all harmed and persecuted victim of, both, started  by Fascist Germans Second World War and so many years of post WWII, Communist Soviet Occupation!!! What the bloody nerve!!! What the sky reaching cynicism!!! What veritable mountain of insufferable dirt right at UEA, the place least of all thinkable of such things. This is most definitely absolutely unacceptable for anything even remotely similar occurring there!!!

Well... I don't think it will be so. Not, as long as long I and similar like me people live, see it and absolutely don't appreciate it... As Polish anthem sais in its entry, first sentence: "Poland shan't ever perish while we still can brith", "Jeszcze Polska nie zginela kiedy my zyjemy",  "La Pollando ne pereos ĝis ni vive spiros".

The above are described just some of many "Shining Jewels" of the "high ethical standard level" of UEA and some of her corrupt, ethically savage chieftains…

But, could there be any clearer proof of the existence of entrenched at UEA ethical bipolarity, two different sets of morality standards of typical bullies? One, applicable to Poland and Poles, along-site with most other Slavic countries, except Russia, because its strong enough to hit back and bleed their noses, and the other, special class,  for others, all non-Slavs?! In consequence: other moral measure for Poland and Poles, but completly different, special class one, for Italy , Germany, Britain and other countries in so called "United Europe"!? Well this answers by itself, doesn't it? Should we wonder then why so many Poles left (and keep leaving) most of UEA connected associations and societies? In the light of this, I'm saddened to see present UEA not differing almost at all from such ethical hooligans and terrorist-tactic organizations like "Greenpeace" various pressure groups or other entities virtually criminal from any ethical, humanist, logical, scientific and especially educational points of view. Should we then keep trusting naively, so called, "neutrality" of UEA that wants now to bargain over the neutrality of Esperanto to the EU monstrosity? What is the sense in existence of UEA in such case? No that so wonder many are leaving it.
