ESPERANTO By: Zbigniew Wybraniec Alternative Solution For International Communications Worldwide An International Language - Esperanto, was invented and introduced to the world some 120 years ago by genius Polish amateur linguist, polyglot ophthalmologist and doctor of medicine Ludwik Lazarz Zamenhof (Louis Lazarus Zamenhof) under an author's pseudonym Dr. Esperanto ( Dr. Hopeful One).
However, Zamenhof, kept working hard to form initial Esperanto's social framework, its social carrier. He did it, amongst other important works, translating in Esperanto "Holy Bible", the set of ancient, Holy Scriptures, in which three important religions of today's world: Hebrew, Christian and Muslim, find their common roots. In accompaniment with an International Language - originally designed to be the carrier of what he called originally "Homaranismo" (Humanitanism) - was born an "Internal Idea" of Esperanto. It was an idea of the lay philosophy of friendship and solidarity of the people of the World to cause the world to become better living place for all no matter of race, religion or nationality. In the result of combining these two elements (social and linguistic) in the form of social movement there was born the present loose Esperantist federation of the full of variety, free and independent worldwide movement consisting of people from all walks of life. It consists, though, mainly of organizations and individuals who study and use an International Language. Soon after the initiation by issuing first manual of an "International Language by Dr-o Esperanto", for the want of one word term for their mutual language, most speakers started calling it spontaneously, Esperanto, after beautiful pseudonym of its creator, meaning, the "Hopeful One". |
